We’re all Connected

Have you ever heard, that we are all within 5 connections from each other.  That a friend, of a friend, of a friend, of a friend knows a stranger, that you will probably come into contact with and have a connection with.

In about 2002, while my son and another young boy and I were coming back from a T-Ball game, a deer hit our Subaru and totaled it.  Although it was still drivable, the body damage was so severe, that it was not cost effective to repair it. A couple of months later, we sold the car to an aquatintenc so he could use it for parts to fix his Subaru.

So fast forward many years, and low and behold, two young people begin dating and have a beautiful baby girl.  A couple years later they have a tiny baby boy, that entered the world in an emergency  C-section.  The tiny baby boy weighed just 2 pounds 6 ounces and was just under 14 inches long.  He had already proven to be a fighter, but will continue to need medical care for many more months.

Your probably thinking, what does this have to do with a totaled car, wait for it…..  The young couple  was actually connected years prior to their meeting each other.

You see the young boy, who was sitting in the back seat when the Subaru was totaled, is now the Father of the tiny baby boy.  And the daughter of the aquatintenc who bought the totaled Subaru is the tiny baby boy’s Mother.

Yes that’s right.  Over 15 years ago, a young boy, and a young girl were connected through a friend of a friend.

We really are within 5 ( or less connections from each other).  So the next time someone tells you,  “I think I might know you”.  Stop a minute and to find out how. You might be closer than you think.
