Have your ever wonder why when you buy some perfumes they seem to last longer than others. Generally speaking it has to do with the concentration of scent. Whether you’re buying a Cologne or toillette water or perfume each has its own concentration level.
I recently learned that there are several different levels of concentration of scent when colognes & perfumes are compared. It is the concentration level is what determines how long a scent will last. For example did you know a perfume will generally last almost twice as long as a cologne. And in comparison a cologne will last longer than a body mist spray.
So how can you tell the difference. In the Avon Book and Avon Fragrance Online you will see it either says eau de parfum, eau de toilette or eau de cologne. For many years I did not understand but they were actually descriptions of the concentration of scent.
If a perfume is labeled body spray, aftershave or splash it has a concentration of up to 1%. This produces a scent that will last up to 1 hour.
I’d a perfume is labeled eau de cologne is has a 2 to 4% concentration of scent. This produces a scent that will last up to three to four hours.
If a perfume says eau de toilette it has a scent concentration of 5 to 15%. This produces a scent that will last up to four to six hours.
If a perfume has eau de parfum it has a concentration of 15 to 20%. This produces a scent that will last six to eight hours.
Avon has a collection in a wide variety of fragrance concentrations. The Avon senses body sprays and some of the aftershave lotions are an example of the 1% fragrance concentration.
The Rare Collection along with the haiku collection Haiku Collection is an example of the eau de parfum concentration of 15 to 20%. These generally produce the longest lasting scent.
The new s Avon Stories Collection is an example of the eau de toilette concentration of five to 15% fragrance. These will last four to six hours.
The classics collection including longtime favorites of Sweet Honesty and Timeless are examples of the eau de cologne with a fragrance concentration of 2 to 4%. These will produce a scent that lasts 3 to 4 hours.
