Avon Magix Wand Foundation Stick review

The newest addition to the Avon foundation lineup is a stick.  Yes you read that right, a stick. If your like me, you might be thinking, what?

The description from the web site reads “Poof! Cover + perfect + blur with the simple wave of our Magix Wand. The long-wearing, multi-use foundation stick—and a few sleight-of-hand tricks—deliver complexion perfection”

As usual I was skeptical, but once I got used to using it, I was pleasantly surprised.  So you might be thinking what’s the secret? The Magix Wand Foundation Stick is a high-pigment, light-as-air formula that creates a smooth canvas.  It actually perfects tone and blurs flaws leaving a soft demi-matte finish.

The Magix Wand has the ability to go from a full-face coverage to on-the-go touchups. It’s a purse-friendly foundation stick lets you easily conceal, highlight and contour. Screenshot_20190903-230317~2

Watch as I Demonstrate

The best recommendations I have for use is to apply directly ( from the stick) on to clean, moisturized skin. The key here is to apply shortly after your moisturizer.  I usually give about 3-5 minutes after my moisturizer to allow time for my moisturizer to properly absorb.

I use 3 different sticks, one color as a base color.  This is a shade that “disappears” on my face when blended in.  Meaning that it is essentially invisible. I use a stick that is  two shades darker as a contour under my cheek bones, and temple areas.  I use a stick two shades lighter as a highlighter on my upper cheeks, tip of my nose, and upper lip area.  I also use a light shade as a concealer under my eyes.

Although I usually blend my foundation with my fingertips, I’ve found that the Magix Stick blends much better with a sponge. inCollage_20190903_223343546

I find that it actually smooths and evens my skins texture, and blurs the look of pores and wrinkles. This might be due to the shea butter and vitamin E that helps moisturize dry skin and provides antioxidant protection.  The best part that I like about the Magic Wand Foundation Stick is probably the fact that it blends almost effortlessly and leaves a silky, matte finish.

When ordering, I recommend you find the color that best matches your skin tone, and also order a stick two shades lighter, and two shades darker.  Not only will you probably find your best shade, but you will also have colors to use as contour and highlighter.
