With the recent discontinuation of the Avon True Color Superextend Precise Liquid Pen Eye Liner — My Personal FAVORITE, I’ve been trying a variety of other eye liners offered by Avon.
First I tried the fmg Cashmere 24HR Cream Eyeliner , I liked the coverage, but not the fact that it needs to be sharpened. (I know it looks like it shouldn’t because the pencil feels like plastic, but trust me the pencil needs sharpened.
Second I tried Glimmersticks Waterproof Eye liner in Blackest Night. (currently being rebranded as fmg Glimmer Eye liner), but found that the color seemed to smear before the end of the Day, and I looked like I had dark circles under my eyes.
Third I Tried the fmg Glimmer Longwear Gel Eyeliner in Tornado (Black) This I the one that I’ve switched to as a replacement for the Avon True Color Superextend Precise Liquid Pen Eye Liner. I find the coverage does NOT smear, and it stays put all day long. The biggest Fall Back is that it is Not a pencil, so you mush purchase a separate eye liner brush to use it. although this is an inconvenience, I’ve gotten use to it over the past couple of months.
The other eye line Avon Offers is the Avon True Color Always On Point Eye Liner. Although I haven’t tried this one in a number of years, it is also an alternative to try as a replacement for the Avon True Color Superextend Precise Liquid Pen Eye Liner.

Happy Wednesday! With the hot dry summer air, which seems to be much more daunting this year, I thought I’d share with you what I’ve found to be one of the best facial moisturizers (oils) I’ve found.
As you know, I try most of the new skin care so I can let you know what I think of it. BUT, it took me a while to get around to trying the Green Goddess Facial Oil. Now I’m wishing I would have tried it sooner.
I recently watched a training video about skin care, and Avon’s skin care expert. She said Green Goddess Facial Oil is one of the few products she includes in her daily routine, regardless of what else she is using at the time.
So I figured it was about time I gave it a try, and I was not disappointed. If I had to choose just ONE product, this would be the one.
So how can you incorporate it into your daily routine? Because it’s a lightweight OIL, Green Goddess should be the final step in your daily skin care routine. Yes, it goes on after moisturizer. Don’t worry, it’s lightweight enough, that it’s quickly absorbed into your skin.
If you prefer a minimal, one product, skin care regimen, this is the one I would recommend. I even use it over my SPF moisturizer, and my makeup perfectly blends into my skin.
Since I started using it, My skin feels baby soft, and I’ve had a noticeable reduction in lines and wrinkles around my eyes and above my lips.

There’s been quite a bit of talk about needing ceramides for your skin lately, but what are they exactly?
Ceramides make up over 50% of our skin’s composition in the form of lipids (fats). They are concentrated in the uppermost layers of skin–epidermis layer–and their roles are crucial for your skin’s health. Think of ceramides as the glue of your skin. This glue acts as a protective layer that holds our skin cells together. Ceramides help limit moisture loss and protect against pollutants in our environment.
Ceramides have also been shown to effectively treat childhood atopic dermatitis issues. Ceramides are naturally occurring and can be found in many food sources, especially in plants called Phytoceramides.
Because ceramides are in the uppermost layer of your skin, they are also the most susceptible to our surrounding environments. Sun damages, environmental pollutants, and aging all reduce the effectiveness and amount of ceramides in your skin.
So how can you tell if your skin needs ceramides? Look for the signs. Envision a piece of paper that is held together by glue. If the glue melts away you’ll see dry, flaky pieces of paper. For some, laundry is the best chore of the week. For others, it’s a frustrating and never-ending cycle of washing, drying, and folding that often gets put off for days. No matter how you feel about a good spin cycle, your laundry is an essential part of your chore routine. Yet, you may be committing some common mistakes that could be harming your clothes. Keep reading to learn how to avoid these classic slip-ups.
Mishandling Stains
The only thing worse than getting a stain is allowing a stain to set in, which can effectively ruin your clothes. Tackle it right away and avoid scrubbing at the new stain—this can cause it to spread and can also wear down the fabric of your garment. Gently blot and work at it from the outside, which will help contain it. Finally, when you wash it, avoid immediately drying without checking the stain’s condition. Once it’s dried, the heat will set the stain and make it much more difficult to remove.
Adding Too Much Detergent
Extra detergent means extra clean clothes, right? Wrong! Be sure to follow the instructions of your preferred detergent and keep a close eye on the line as you pour. Excess detergent can cause an accumulation of soap, leaving residue on your clothes and allowing for a potential build-up of bacteria.
Incorrectly Preparing Clothes
As you load the washing machine, give each piece of clothing a once over. Any items with zippers should be zipped up, as the zipper teeth can snag other clothing as they move around in the washer. Keep buttoned shirts unbuttoned, sleeves included to protect the buttonholes. Finally, be sure to check any pockets for pens, lipsticks, and other items that can cause a nasty mess in the washing machine.
Ignoring the Dry-Clean Only Tag
Not all clothes can handle the washing machine. Check your clothing tags for “Dry-Clean Only” and don’t ignore this important instruction! They may seem fine, but a rough spin cycle can eventually damage certain materials, including leather, suede, silk, and items with embellishments
Forgetting To Clean Your Dryer
It’s common practice to clean out the lint filter after each dry, but when is the last time you cleaned out your dryer duct? Like the filter, lack of cleaning can be a serious fire hazard in your home. At least once a year, tackle your dryer duct by detaching the hose from the back and clearing out any lint or build-up.
Over Drying Your Clothes
You might be shocked to learn just how damaging over-drying your clothing can be! If possible, air-dry your clothes to preserve the materials that are often worn down as they’re dried over and over again and help keep their shape.
Incorrectly Sorting
How do you sort your laundry loads? Many opt for a simple light and dark clothing split, but the truth is, it’s best to go a few steps further. Sort by materials as well to get the best clean on all of your clothes. For example, make one load for heavy items like denim, one for lighter items like blouses and delicates, and one for bulky bedding and towels.

With the discontinuation of some (most) of the Advanced Techniques hair care, many are asking me what we still have available for your Hair Care
We actually have several options. The CHI hair care shampoo and conditioner lineup was created exclusively for Avon with our partnership with CHI, a professional Salon hair care company. Which means these two products are only available from Avon. These happen to be my personal favorites.
Another option is our Elastine Branded products. Under the Elastine umbrella, we have many options. Our Botanicals shampoo and conditioners have been created from Natural plant-derived ingredients. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I’ve been having problems with my makeup, especially my eye makeup, smearing when my glasses steam up from my mask. Yes, I’ve tried several tricks to keep my glasses from steaming up, but none really worked that great. So I started trying different makeup techniques to see if that would help, and this is what I came up with.
I First Start with a Primer, the Magix Prime Face Perfector was just what I was looking for. And, If you know me well, the added benefit of the SPF 20 was right up my alley. The Face Perfector helps to visibly minimize pores and my fine experience lines (as I like to call them). It just seems to blurr them away. I also noticed that it helps my pores tighten up, especially around my nose, due to the Rose Extract. My face also feels silky smooth with the added moisturizing benefits of Fleece Flower Extract.
I Follow the Primer with a Tinted Moisturizer, Yes you read that right, a Tinted Moisturizer. Never thought you’d hear me say that, but I like the lightweight feel, it’s sheer and I can build, or add more if I need more coverage. With a face mask on, the Tinted Moisturizer doesn’t feel as heavy as a thicker foundation did. I also like the fact that it helps keep my skin hydrated with Vitamin E and B5. Plus, it’s Infused with passion fruit, Chia seed and Sunflower Seed.
I finish up with a Powder. But not just any powder. I’ve shied away from powders the last several years, because they just seem to settle in lines & wrinkles, making them worse. But, the Magix Dust Finishing Powder doesn’t seem to do that. It’s a pure mineral powder with ultrafine minerals and gems – tourmaline, powder ruby and rose quartz. It also has green tea extract to smooth skin and enhance my natural complexion. And the fact it’s 100% naturally derived was a plus in my book.
With the latest information that we may be wearing face masks for the foreseeable future, Changing up my makeup seemed like a necessary evil. I mean, when you have something you like, it’s really hard to give it up. Going lighter with foundation, starting with a primer and finding a powder that didn’t enhance my “experience” lines has been a Change for the better.

My son and I were talking this past week about quantity vs quality. Which do you prefer? I’ve always been a quality type of gal. I recall saving part from each paycheck right after I graduated from high school. Even though the majority of my money was gonna be used for college, I stashed away a little each week so that I could get a “boom box” for my college dorm room. Now that many of us are back into the routine of a new school year, is it time to update your lip color.
With social isolation in effect, it’s more difficult to find that “perfect shade”. I recently had a customer call to see if she could get some samples. When I told her about the virtual “try it on” she was so excited. She has tried 3 different colors, and just couldn’t find that perfect color.
“Try it on” gives you the chance to experiment with different colors. When I was experimenting, I found a couple colors that I would have never bought for myself, but really liked the way the color looked when I tried the “try it on” tool.

Recently, several people have asked me, “How do I fix my dry cracked heels?”. I know it’s still summer weather, and that means sandals, but no one wants to have ugly cracks on your heel as you walk away.
In addition to the unsightly cracks, the pain is sometimes unbearable. I mean, you can’t even step down on your foot without almost wetting your pants. No kidding.
If you’ve never experienced a dry cracked heel, then consider yourself lucky. But, if you have, I totally understand, I’ve been there myself.
First and foremost, the inability to walk due to the pain needs to be taken care of. For me that means popping a couple Tylenol (well generic acetaminophen), and a 4% Lidocaine topical cream. Yes, the same stuff, in a much higher concentration, the doctor uses before he stitches you up. 4% Lidocaine is the highest you can get over the counter. I suppose you could use a topical benzocaine cream or gel (like what’s in orajel), but I usually have Cracked Heel Cream with 4% Lidocaine in my cupboard, so that’s what I use.
Once the pain is under control, and you can walk again, popping pills is not a long term solution. So the problem of the dry, cracked heel must be fixed. I have heard, and read about good results from a foot soak made by mixing warm water, listerine and vinegar. I suppose any form of medicated mouthwash would work, and all agree, apple cider vinegar was better, but white distilled vinegar would also work. The mixture should be equal parts of each in a basin large enough to put your feet into. You could probably also use an electric foot bath, the kind that is like a mini whirlpool.
Now onto the soaking. Believe it or not, soaking your feet for long periods of time is NOT recommended by podiatrists (foot doctors). The main reason, prolonged soaking can lead to maceration (which is when the skin has prolonged exposure to moisture and begins to break down). That’s really the last thing you need, so limit the soaking. My recommendation is about 10-15 minutes, but absolutely no more than 20 minutes at a time.
After you’ve soaked your feet, I use a foot or nail file rather than a pumice stone. Many times the dry, cracked heel is harder than the pumice stone, so it’s of little effect to remove the dry skin. You can purchase foot or nail files at almost any store. I prefer a nail file that has a grit of 100/180 or better yet if you can find one with a grit of 80/100.
Now don’t expect this to fix your dry, cracked heels the first time. It took a couple of months for your heels to get cracked, so it’s gonna take some time to get them healed.
Besides being unsightly, and painful, cracked heels could possibly become infected. Although this is rare, the cracked skin could be deep enough to bleed. Then you have an open wound to deal with. Let’s hope yours aren’t that bad, but believe me when I say it can happen. My dry, cracked heels were actually at that point several months ago, but thank goodness they did not become infected.
If your heels are cracked deep enough to bleed, I would skip the foot soak, after all, putting your foot in a basin of water is just inviting bacteria to flow right into your open wound.
If your dry cracked heels are infected, the best remedy is a topical antibiotic. Yes you could use something like Neosporin (or a generic triple antibiotic) ointment, but the latest recommendation from doctors is to use bacitracin. The difference is that Bacitracin has 1 antibiotic in it, while Neosporin has 3 – Bacitracin, Polymyxin, and Neomycin. (Some people may have allergies to the triple antibiotic, which affects healing). I actually use Cracked Heel Cream it contains benzalkonium chloride, which is an antiseptic that is effective against a wide range of bacteria, yeasts and fungi.
So now that we’ve discussed how to take care of the pain and cracks on your heels, it’s time to address the real problem.
The answer actually lies in the question. “How do I fix my DRY cracked heels?”. Simple, add some moisture. That can be in the form of a lotion, a cream or an ointment, but the key is to be consistent. (You can read about the differences in my post Ointment or Cream Which Should I Use) For me that means every morning before I put on my boots, for you it might mean every night before you slip on your comfy slippers. Regardless of when, it’s important to do so everyday until your heel is no longer dry and cracked. Since that day hasn’t come for me yet, I slather the cream on every morning. The last thing I want to do is tiptoe around in pain because my heels are dry and cracked again.
As with many other types of foot problems, fixing dry cracked heels is part science, part asking for suggestions, and part trial and error to figure out what works best for you.

I think we must first grieve for the life we remember from before, because this new normal is not the same. What was one out routine, what was one our normal, is no longer possible. And just like all grief, we have denied there was a problem, we’ve been pissed, we’ve been depressed, we’ve even bargained – thinking of we could just “slow the spread” it would fix everything. Guess what? Our old life is gone, and now we are ready to embrace what lies ahead. (Well maybe)

After all my research, and trying each formula, I discovered both pros and cons of each formula. Our expert brow liner, Ultra Luxury Brow Liner, glides on with soft, smooth strokes to fill in and shape your brows for a natural look every time. Which is probably why I preferred it. That and it has a rich, creamy color that felt almost powdery when I put it in. I found out didn’t tug at my eye brows, I could get a precise application from the easy to sharpen pencil, and I got hours of wear that didn’t smudge.
Our Glimmersticks Brow Definer give perfect blendability and smooth, glide-on color that lasts for hours. Add in the fact that these are retractable, so there is no need to sharpen, and they are waterproof, smudge proof and long lasting. These are my favorite for on the go touchups. Although I found the Luxury Liner to be a creamer formula than the Glimmersticks, I do like the retractable design.
One of our new Eye Brow Products is the Hi Brow Sculpting Gel. The gel is designed to keep brows in place for 24 hours, with a Smudge-proof, flake-proof and water-resistant flexible formula that contains oil-controlling clay. In addition to nourishing vitamin E and kiwi extract with antioxidant benefits, this formula is like using a tinted gel that made my eyebrows appear thicker, and I liked the tapered micro-brush. It’s almost like a mascara wand so you can build up the thickness by adding layers. I found the gel kept my unruly eyebrows in place better than either of the pencils.
The Tattoo Station Proof Brow Pencil has a cream to powder type of finish and is waterproof. The pencil is retractable (it took a really long time to twist it out) and my favorite feature is a spoolie brush on the end. I found the formula to be smooth, not as creamy as the Luxury Liner, but more so that the Glimmersticks.
Finally, my five star pick, the Tattoo Station Proof Brow Pomade. Which really surprised me, because I never imagined I would switch from a pencil. But wow. The applicator is so precise it looks exactly like thing hairs when applied. The formula is ultra creamy, but not greasy, and stays on all day and night without any smudges. And the rich pigments in the colors look so natural, it’s hard to tell that I have anything on my eyebrows. This has quickly become my favorite eye brow product.I did have a bit of a learning curve getting used to brushing my eyebrows first, then “painting” in with the pomade, but the extra time it takes me is worth the trade-off.
When you try again and again to do something you may be setting yourself up for failing. Why, because when you try, you have the subconscious option of failing. When you do something, there’s no option of failure.
Well at least I tried, should be removed from your vocabulary. So often I hear several people, including myself, saying just that simple phrase. So we give up to easy. It’s easy to say I tried to save the money, I tried to loose the weight, I tried to pass the test….etc…
Now what would happen if we said instead, I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna save the money, I’m gonna lose the weight, I’m gonna pass the test. When we say do, we begin to start the steps to make it happen, even if it’s not a conscious decision.
There’s something about doing instead of trying, that automatically puts us into a state of mind when we can accomplish whatever we set out to do.
Basically it’s a matter of setting ourselves up for success, rather than giving ourselves the option of failing. Setting ourselves up for success is really a matter of taking that first step. Doing something, even if it doesn’t work, is better than just saying I’m trying. If what we do at first doesn’t work, the we simply do something else, and keep doing until we succeed.

Are you still unable to get in to see your beauty expert, your hairdresser? How are you able to manage your hair, and your unruly eye brows?
I tried shaping my unmanaged eye brows at home. How did it go? Let’s just say it’s a work in progress.
With many of us kept away from our hair dresser during the pandemic, it seems we have little choice in the matter.
I wondered where should I start. I knew there must be some help out there someplace, so I started where I start everything, with Google.
They are many resources out there to help, each with some risk. I discovered that pretty much all agree on a couple things. It’s a matter of personal choice. (Well that’s not much help), and everyone had their own opinion.
But before that, I found the most flattering length of my eyebrows with an old trick I learned many years ago.
First, I discovered the inner and outer edges quickly with a straight line, I used a small skinny brush and held it next to my nose and lo need it up the inner corner of my eye. Then marked that spot with an eye liner.
Then I did the same to mark the outside corner, by creating a straight line from my nose to the outer corner of my eye, and marked the spot.
To find the highest part of the arch I looked straight ahead and moved the brush to where the middle of my eye was. I marked that spot.
Now I had an idea which hairs did and didn’t belong.
Before I started plucking away, I used some cream that contained 4% lidocaine to help with the pain.
After a few seconds, I began plucking away any hairs that didn’t fall between the inter and out edges.
To create the arch, I brushed the hairs down, then plucked the hairs above on the inner and outer edges. I then brushed the hairs up in the middle, and plucked the hairs that fell below.
I have to admit, I used more lidocaine cream a couple of times during the process. It also brushed my eyebrows up and trimmed and really long hairs. It did take me several days of plucking, and shaping until I was kinda satisfied with the look.

Hard to believe it’s been 4 years since I took my life into a new direction. 4 years ago I would have been at work, yes even on a Sunday. I was working 50+ hours a week and missing yet another memory with my kids..

Well long story short, we had an amazing day full of great memories, even though we didn’t get to burn any piles. With deep snow, getting stuck and even a blizzard (when the falling snow and wind cause the snow to bite you when it hits), we just weren’t able to get it done.
But, the day wasn’t a waste. It was a day filled with laughter, hard work and fun. I even told my daughter-in-law “times like this is what memories are made of”. I mean I had grandchildren, my kids, husband and sister all along. Who better to spend a day in the snow with. Just enjoying our time together.
As I look back on the past 4 years, the new direction my life has taken is simply amazing. I get to live these memories, instead of just hearing about them from my kids. I’m busy making these memories with my grandchildren.
Years ago, it would have never crossed my thoughts, that I could schedule my work around my family, around those moments that make memories. But here I am.

So far the hardest part of the past week has been taking the time each day to do the activities.
Does that sound familiar?
It’s not that I don’t have fifteen-twenty minutes a day, the hard part is to put myself and my business first.
Isn’t it funny how when I take the time to do something for myself and my business, I feel guilty. Like somehow growing my business and working on something I’m committed too isn’t as important as having supper on the table, getting the laundry done, or making sure the toilet is cleaned.
Is it just me? Or does anyone else feel like that?
Tomorrow starts week 2, and I’m looking forward to more challenges, more activities, and more success…

I was in the process of filling out scholarships and college applications. Why – Because I wanted to get OUT. I felt my life was meant for something bigger and better. And for a while that seemed to be what I yearned for.

Hard to believe it’s been 4 years since I took my life into a new direction. 4 years ago I would have been at work, yes even on a Sunday. I was working 50+ hours a week and missing yet another memory with my kids..
So much has changed since then. Today, I spent the day with my family. We took 4 wheelers and snowmobiles and rode to my parents property with the plan of burning some brush piles that we had stacked last fall. We’ve reached the final day of 3 Days to Better Skin.
Today our focus is on protection of our skin with sunscreen. By definition, sunscreen is anything that protects our skin from UV Radiation before it has a chance to reach our skin.
We could cover all areas of our body, including our face, with clothing to block the damaging UV Radiation, but that is not realistic. At least not for me. I use a facial sunscreen daily. The purpose of a sunscreen is to either absorb, scatter or reflect those damaging rays to keep them from reaching our skin.
No matter what the ingredients are in a sunscreen, if it’s labeled sunscreen, it is tested and regulated to meet the same set of standards. The United States Food & Drug Administration recommends using a Broad Spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more.
A broad Spectrum Sunscreen protects us from all harmful UV Radiation. A Non broad spectrum sunscreen, will usually only protect from getting sunburned. It won’t protect skin from the underlying damage that UV rays can cause.
Sunscreens are rated by their Sun Protection Factor, or SPF. The SPF helps determine how much longer you can stay in the sun before you get burned. For example if a person can stay in the sun for 10 minutes before getting burned, than a SPF of 30 would allow that person to stay in the sun for 300 minutes (10 x 30) before getting sunburned.
Although, sunscreen can protect and individual from sun damage, it’s effectiveness is as unique as the user and also depends on a person’s skin type, the application of the sunscreen and the water (and sweat) resistance of the product.

On Day 2 of 3 Days to Better Skin we are focusing on Preserving or skin. Another way of saying treating and moisturizing our skin.
The choice of moisturizers are limitless, and you can use different moisturizers in the morning and on the evening. You can also use different moisturizers and treatments on different days off the week depending on what your son is needing.
I try to read the label, or ingredients listed on whatever I put on my face, as those different ingredients determine what a treatment or moisturizer will do for my skin.
If skin is dry, focus on the left ingredient of hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that helps to boost the moisture in skin. But what happens if skin has lost its firmness and definition, peptides and caffeine may be beneficial. the Anew Platinum Skin Care system seems to help with this problem. To help diminish visible pores you might try a moisturizer with lactic acid, or something with a Vita Tone Complex.
To help improve radiance, and brightness my favorite skin care Ingredient is Vitamin C. I use vitamin c serum every night. But what happens if you have blemishes or acne? Then the best ingredient to look for is Salicylic Acid.
As I said, I use different a treatments and moisturizers on different days, and I So how do I know what to use first when using more than one product. General rule of thumb.. lightest to heaviest.
To determine which is the lightest, I’ll put a small amount of each product on my arm. Which ever one runs first is usually a lighter formula, and so I put it on first. Wait a bit (about 30 seconds) and then use the next one. Another rule of thumb to use is usually a serum is lighter than a cream.
You can choose to use several different moisturizers or treatments, depending on the time of day (am or pm) or even different days, but it is recommended to limit use to 2 different products at a time. More than that will probably not be absorbed into your skin.

Day One of 3 Days to Better Skin focuses on Prepping your skin. Another way of saying, cleansing your skin.
In the evening it’s important to cleanse our face to remove all the dirt and grime we get on our skin from the environment. It also prepares our skin for any treatments or moisturizers, and enhances the effectiveness of those treatments and moisturizers.
There are many types of cleansers, as each has pros and cons. But the bottom line is, it depends on your personal preference. We each have our own unique skin care needs, and preferences.
We have several choices of cleansers to choose from. A foam cleanser, is just as the name implies. It is usually in a pump type of dispenser and comes out in a foam type consistently.
Wipes are often more convenient to use. Wipes can be used to quickly remove makeup, and are simply tossed when finished using them. The convenience of use makes them perfect for me to use when camping.
Another cleanser I keep in my camping bag is micellar water. micellar water is simply water that has tiny micro molecules of oils that attach to dirt and grime so they can be removed from the skin. To use micellar water, simply put on a cotton ball and wipe over your face.
Another type of cleanser is a cream cleanser. These types of cleansers are usually more moisturizing to the skin, as compared to the soap types of cleansers.
My personal preference of cleansers changes, deepening on several factors. Where I am, what type of mood I’m in, as even how tired I am before bed.

But, why does it seem as we get older this is so much harder to accept. Is it because trying something new is uncomfortable and inconvenient.
I think we simply get stuck into a routine or a habit and it’s really hard to change our routines and habits.
I find this so often when talking to women about caring for their skin. Let’s face it, our skin changes over time. As we age, our skin also ages, thus requiring a Different Routine.
As skin ages we begin to see fine lines (experience lines) around our eyes. I swear my fine lines appeared the day after I turned 30. But we often fail to adjust our skin care to address those concerns.
In reality the skin care needs of our 30+ year old face, and those of our 20 year old face are much different. So why do we continue to use the same things on our skin, and expect them to still work. I think it’s because trying something new is inconvenient. After all, we already have our routines, and changing our habits are hard. But if we continue to follow the same routine, We will just be getting the same results, and unfortunately that is not what our skin care needs.

As we prepare to ring in the New Year, I’m “heading back to work”. I took a couple weeks off the end of December to reflect on the past year, and prepare for the new.

As we age we all try to combat the signs at maturity. We may try an anti- wrinkle cream. We may try a youthful serum. Some may even try surgical procedure.If I were to tell you, we might not have to resort to all of that to keep our skin looking young, what would you do. I know most of us would say,. Yes! I want to learn more.Well, not to burst your bubble, but for some of us, Especially those of us that grew up in the 70’s and early 80’s, we may have missed the boat. That’s not too say we are hopeless. But we may have damaged our skin more that we even know.So what am I talking about? Did you end lay out on a summer day slathered in baby oil? Those amazing, deep golden brown, tamed looks that we all tried to achieve in our youth, probably caused damage to our skin. The culprit is the harmful rays from the sun. That’s because the sun gives off ultraviolet (UV) light that damages your skin and causes dage. Over time, these rays can lead to wrinkles, dark spots, and other problem areas. The result: You can add years to your looks. Research shows that UV exposure is the reason behind 80% of your skin’s aging. What?!. Can you believe that? So it may seem hopeless for some of us, but wait. We can reverse some of the damage with at home treatments. If your serious about reversing the sun damage to our skin you’ll need to first find a cream(s) that you are committed to using on a regular basis. In my last blog I talked about how you can put money into your pocket from direct sales. We even broke down the cost of doing business, which included the purchasing of catalogs, office type supplies, fuel and the products themselves. The model we used was $100 in sales, with a 20% commission (or discount) on products, $10 for catalogs, $5 for office supplies and $5 for fuel. If you do the math it’s easy to see that the $100 in sales is completely used up for the cost of doing business. Now let’s figure out how you can actually put money in your pocket.The way to put actual money into your pocket is to sell more. Using the figures above, of you sell $200 you’ll actually pocket $20. Based on the fact that you already have the catalogs, office supplies, and chances are you can deliver a couple orders to the same place.Now, what would happen if you sold $300, you could potentially pocket $40. Although that doesn’t seem like a bunch of money, if you only spent 2 hours that becomes $20 an hour.As you can see, it’s really not about making easy money, it’s more about getting the large orders. If your only selling a small amount, then direct sales probably isn’t a way to pocket big money.Bottom line, if you want to make money, you have to put in the time. Just like any other sales job based on commissions, the more time you put in getting the sales, the more money you pocket.
